    Below is a list highlighting disadvantages of plastic molded cases.    Disadvantages of Plastic Molded Cases:   Heavier and Bulkier: Plastic molded cases are typically heavier than EVA cases, making them less portable and harder to handle, especially when transporting multiple items.   Less Flexibility and Less Cushioning: Plastic cases are rigid and don’t provide the same level of shock absorption or flexibility as EVA thermoformed cases. They can be prone to cracking or breaking under impact, whereas EVA offers more durability without damage.   Limited Customization: While plastic molded cases can be made in various shapes and sizes, they generally offer less customization for specific items or compartments inside the case. Custom interiors are harder to achieve compared to EVA foam.   Less Effective Protection for Sensitive Items: The lack of cushioning in plastic molded cases can lead to less effective protection for fragile items. Hard plastic can transfer impact force to the contents, potentially causing damage.   Less Eco-Friendly: Plastic molded cases, particularly those made from less-recyclable materials, have a larger environmental footprint. The production process can involve harmful chemicals, and plastics are often not biodegradable.   More Prone to Scratches and Scuff Marks: Plastic cases are more prone to surface damage like scratches, especially when placed in rough environments or handled carelessly. This can affect the case's aesthetic over time.   Vulnerable to Temperature Changes: Certain plastic materials can become brittle in extreme temperatures, making them less suitable for long-term protection in fluctuating climates. EVA, on the other hand, is more temperature-resistant and doesn’t tend to crack under cold conditions.   More Expensive in Small Runs: For low-volume or prototype production, plastic molding can be costly due to the need for expensive molds and longer production timelines. EVA thermoforming tends to be more affordable for small batches.   Limited Water Resistance: Many plastic molded cases are not designed to be waterproof or resistant to moisture. The seal and material may degrade over time when exposed to water, unlike EVA, which is naturally water-resistant.   Summary:   EVA Thermoformed Cases: Lightweight, flexible, shock-absorbent, customizable, eco-friendly, water-resistant, and cost-effective in small runs. Best for sensitive, delicate items.   Plastic Molded Cases: Heavier, rigid, less protective for fragile items, limited customization, and generally more environmentally damaging. Best for rugged use where protection isn’t as critical.
